Flat Stanley and Famous Ankles Part 1

I received a letter from James T. from Falls Church in Virginia. In his letter, James sent a famous person to meet Famous Ankles! I’m honored to host a visit from Flat Stanley and show him around New York City.

The first thing I did was take Flat Stanley to see the United Nations Building. It is often called the “U.N.” and it has hundreds and hundreds of people from countries all over the globe. You have to have a special pass to get inside, so we only looked from outside.

Nearby, there was a small park called “Tudor City Greens” where there was a lot of music and singing going on. It was a concert featuring a lot of singers called caberet singers. Flat Stanley liked it. Especially the singer right behind him in the next picture. Her name is Julie Reyburn.

After she sang, she came out into the crowd. Flat Stanley and I asked her if she knew about him, and she said “I love Flat Stanley!” She even posed for a picture with him.

Stay tuned James, for more adventures.

Wow Flat Stanley is also going to visit South Florida and he will visit one of the inlets where the Atlantic Ocean and the Intercoastal Waterway join. Good job Famous Ankles.

  2. Hey, that’s where my boyfriend lives. I walked past the greens on my way to his apartment last night and was so confused by all of the people standing around, since I usually only see one old guy walking laps on the gravel inside and a couple of old ladies admiring each other’s hair on the benches. I’ll bet we passed each other and I scorned you secretly for carrying a drawing of a flat kid.

Actually, it was interesting that no one even hesitated to hold up the picture of Flat Stanley (I asked a total of four people). Furthermore, Julie Reyburn was the only one who had ever heard of him, and that includes the little boy in the second picture. People in NYC, despite secretly scorning me, are almost always really happy to help out like this…as long as one doesn’t say something like “Got any spare change?”.
