I have been walking (NOT running) half marathons for the past couple years, and would like to do the NYC one some time. So it was very interesting to see the type of crowd that participates. I'm not sure I will really ever go to the NY 1/2. Looks like fun, but it is very hard to even think about training for it in the Tallahassee summer heat and humidity.
